Rick’s “Orange Shark”
The times are a changin and technology will advance, but one thing certainly does not change: the theme „Bolt On And Ride” also includes the word ride. The new Harley-Davidson Touring models for the 2024 model year represented a big leap forward! All new rolling chassis, new design and a sophisticated new infotainment system with new and upgraded controls.
Within a very short time, the experienced Rick’s team has adapted or developed numerous customparts for the new „Helix“ bikes. The established and thoroughly field-tested “Clubstyle” riser kit hides the impressive number of cables to the two control switch units in specially CNC-machined cable ducts. hidden under neatly covers. Rick’s “Performance 1T” aluminum handlebars are bolted into the solid clamps, which in the case of the “Road Glide” do not require an instrument mount. Everything you need to know about riding and engine conditions and other data is shown on the huge 312 mm color LED display in the newly designed “Sharknose” fairing. The stock triple-trees of the new Helix platform are hidden under a Rick’s kit of CNC-machined covers and risers installed here: the unique stability of the Rick’s risers allows an immediate response to the slightest steering movement. Even with the 45 mm re-location kit, which allows smaller riders in particular a better handling of the ready-to-ride 380 kg tourer!
This is one massive touring bike which should be treated with respect and care! Virtually all cables disappear under the machined covers or in ducts, and the standard ignition and steering wheel lock is still retained. Rick’s adjustable „Good Guys“ hand levers are combined here with Arlen Ness “Diamond” grips. Gold end caps included. With the exception of the pressure reservoirs of the Oehlins shocks, everything that shines gold on this bike is from Arlen Ness.

Rick’s “Orange Shark” Power Bagger showcases advanced handling and chassis optimization, achieved with high-performance components and a keen eye for detail. The braking system features 355 mm Rick’s “Wave” front rotors, designed for enhanced durability and heat dissipation, while the rear brake boasts a groundbreaking 7 mm thick 300 mm disc, offering greater heat absorption and extended service life. Modern integrated systems like ABS, ELB, and C-ELB distribute braking forces dynamically, ensuring optimal performance in any situation. The suspension setup further refines the bike’s capabilities. Arlen Ness 49 mm fork tubes in DLC-gold house Öhlins NIX22 cartridges, allowing extensive customization for weight and riding preferences. At the rear, Öhlins S36 shocks are discreetly placed behind the “Helix” bags, a practical yet stylish nod to performance-driven design.
Visually, the “Orange Shark” commands attention with its striking Harley factory racing-inspired paint scheme in orange, black, and white, accentuated by metallic pigments and intricate “Bar & Shield” logo details. Complementary gold accents include Arlen Ness “10-Gauge” rocker box covers and the Rick’s “Good Guys III” air filter with a gold inner ring. The Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde “Twenty-One” exhaust system, finished in matte black, adds both power and an adjustable sound profile.
Designed with both protection and style in mind, the bike is equipped with CCE crash bars that safeguard its valuable components. Meanwhile, comfort and practicality are ensured with features like the LePera “Tailwhip” seat and Arlen Ness “Speedliner” floorboards.
Though built for everyday riding and European roads, the “Orange Shark” retains its bite, offering exceptional performance on twisting routes. A perfect balance of showmanship and functionality, it stands ready to impress at events throughout the 2025 season, where it will undoubtedly make its mark.
