Rick’s „Race Glide“ Clubstyle

11. February 2025

The fact that especially Harley-Davidson’s mega tourer out of all Harley-Davidson models in HD’s history would one day „mutate“ into a spectacular track-blasting „racing machine” was not even a dream when the first fixed fairing Harley-Tourer was launched as the FLT “Tour Glide” for model year 1980! Even though the chassis of the first “Tour Glide” was quite revolutionary for the time: for the first time, the Shovelhead engine was mounted in rubber blocks in the frame and the fairing was mounted fixed to the frame. With the rise of the „Clubstyle“ scene, “World Fastest Bagger” record rides on the Bonneville Salt Flats and the increasingly popular US Bagger Racing Series, it is now almost normal to “upgrade” stock Harley-Davidson production tourers with a touch of „racing attitude“! The perfect quality parts for this are introduced in Rick’s Motorcycles program – and the Rick’s team can advise you at any time additionally on further improvements of the performance of rolling chassis and engine by Harley-Davidson Baden-Baden!

The latest “Clubstyle” street racer from Rick’s was created from a stock 2023 “Road Glide“. Harley’s iconic power tourer – one of the basic bikes in the US racing series “King of the Baggers” and “Bagger Racing League”. With surprisingly little effort, the experienced customizing team from Baden-Baden transformed the stock tourer into an exciting “Clubstyle” rider with an extremely sporty look! Numerous Rick’s Motorcycles „Clubstyle“ parts increase functionality and riding performance – and offer optimized riding ergonomics for the owner.

On top of the list: Rick’s Clubstyle Risers are the optimum of clean look and maximum handling stability: 10 inch high pullback risers clamp the Rick’s Clubstyle Moto Bar “Performance 1” in extremely stable and solid clamping pieces for ultra-precise transmission of every steering movement, no matter how light. The clean look of the risers and triple-tree hides all cables under superb CNC-machined covers. Including the stock ignition lock. This also applies to the stock instrument console, which – featuring speedometer and rpm counter – is optimally positioned in the rider’s field of vision – despite the 10-inch (25.4 cm!) high risers. Fuel tank level and other gauges, as well as the LED display, remain in the frame-mounted fairing – and also firmly in the rider’s field of vision.

The owner enjoys the super-ergonomic grip on Rick’s „Good Guys“ grips and adjustable hand levers. The fact that a solid Rick’s steel fender provides additional riding stability on the fork can also be mentioned. The fork is further upgraded with a Rick’s cover kit.

Changing the standard brake discs to Rick’s “Wave” is a definite upgrade in riding safety: larger in diameter at the front and rear, these full floating discs, especially developed for Rick’s Motorcycles, offer better heat dissipation and a longer durability. The rear rotor in particular, with additional thickness of 7 mm, promises significantly better braking performance and a longer service life. The standard Brembo brake calipers are adapted to the larger diameter by Rick’s Motorcycles adapters.

The cleaned up stock rear end owes its appearance primarily to Rick’s established license plate bracket, featuring Kellermann “Atto” 3-in-1 tail light/indicator combinations. Le Pera “Kickflip” seat and Harley-Davidson crash bars front and rear complete the “Clubstyle” look – as does the Rick’s “Good Guys II” air filter in “Spoke” design. Naturally matched and mapped to the Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde exhaust system in Rick’s in-house dyno test stand. A real Rick’s high-end custombike – featuring plenty of power for sportive riding with „attitude“!
