Carte Blanche
Carte Blanche – 2018 Fat Bob FXFBS 114 “Extra Wide”!
To have a “Fat Bob” really live up to its designated name it takes a little bit of work. Preferably a visit to Rick’s Motorcycles! For many people today, life can not be colorful enough, but for quite a number Harley riders “black & white” is more than sufficient. As you can see realized on this highly modified “Fat Bob”!
The FXFBS Milwaukee Eight Softail conversion by Rick’s is a super-clean powerbike: Refined in any aspect, yet far from overloaded. Rick’s “elegance” at its best. For the 2018 model year, the look of the traditional “Fat Bob” had been completely redesigned – and the Rick’s team really adds another chapter onto the given stock Harley look: “Fat Look” of the very finest – disc wheels of epic proportions and an added air suspension for extremely low seating position!
The Rick’s design wheel set of stylish three-piece assembled disc wheels indicates where the journey goes: Power and style are visible and ready to be activated on the push of the starter button! Many components on this custom Harley remained in stock condition, because the stock model already offers top rolling chassis, up-side down fork and dragster-like acceleration. The added Rick’s “Fat Ass” swingarm allows tire dimensions in “Dragstrip” format, without compromising the riding characteristics of this highly customized streetbike.
Rick’s full metal fender above the 300 rubber is as close as possible to the tire when needed – the Air Suspension makes it possible. Over the massive 10.5-inch rim width, the 300 spreads out to dominant size – and the KessTech adjustable Sound System, short as it is, allows unrestricted view on tire and wheel. Seat and tank-to-seat cover provide the visual connection to the stock fuel tank. At the front end, Rick’s front mudguard is again closer to the radius of the 18-inch front tire than any stock part. “Clean” of course also the installed “Kellerman” turn signals rear as in front, there under the Rick’s grips and “Good Guys” hand levers, mounted hidden on the proven Rick’s mounting brackets. Sidemount license plate bracket and other details are Rick’s standard with such a custom job, everything is refined in black paint or powder coated.
Only the body parts – stock fuel tank, Rick’s rear and front fender – are kept in matte white color. In the darkened look, the Rick’s Softail covers on the front wheel axle almost “disappear” – only the “porthole” Rick’s cover in the primary sets a metallic accent with its “look inside” the working clutch.
